Justin Bieber poured his heart into his American Music Awards performances on Sunday.
The singer started off with a moving, acoustic rendition of “As Long As You Love Me,” with lyrics that seemed especially timely given his recent split from Selena Gomez.

He was later joined by Nicki Minaj for their upbeat collaboration, “Beauty & the Beat.”
It was widely speculated that the song’s “Selener” reference to Gomez during Minaj’s verse may be cut, but the rapper sang it as usual.
