Justin Bieber Booed at CFL Grey Cup Halftime Show? (VIDEO)

Justin Bieber performed at halftime of the Grey Cup on Sunday, but fans at the Canadian Football League championship game in Toronto were less than enthusiastic about the pop star.

After reportedly booing The Biebs when his picture was shown on the JumboTron, the crowd booed again during his renditions of “Boyfriend” and “Beauty and a Beat.”

It’s difficult to discern the boos in footage from the television broadcast of the game (videos below), but it’s certainly true that the teen idol was not performing for his typical audience when he stepped on stage midway through the clash between the Toronto Argonauts and Calgary Stampeders.

But if Bieber felt snubbed, he didn’t indicate it on Twitter.

“Honored to perform for my country,” tweeted the singer right after the show. “#ProudCanadian. Good luck in the second half, thanks.”

Justin Bieber Defends Meeting Canadian Prime Minister in Overalls (Still Gets Booed by Football Fans)

After catching a bit of flack for meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper in a decidedly casual pair of overalls, Justin Bieber took to Instagram over the weekend to explain himself.

The superstar was snapped in his home country last week accepting a Diamond Jubilee Medal from the PM. But the Biebs’ choice of wardrobe dominated most of the conversation across the Web.

Bieber wrote in response to a Daily Mail journalist, who called the move as “white trash:”

“The pic of me and the Prime Minister was taken in a room in the arena where I was performing at that day. I walked straight from my meet and greet to him…It wasn’t like it was like I was going into his environment, we were at a hockey arena. Wow am I ever white trash.”
